Jose’s project to train Colombian kids in the preparation of organic solar cells made a further major step. As already announced, the solar cells were selected for a near space flight on NASA´s Sift Test Flight mission on a long duration balloon and were launched August 24th from Fort Summer, New Mexico. As part of the “Affordable martian livelihoods – Cubes in Space” project, the solar cells were encapsulated in small low-e glass Cubes and sent to space together with multiple other test objects. I hope the solar cells enjoyed their exciting ride!
