Erlangen University ranked No 21 in the Shanghai Ranking for Energy Technology and Engineering
Shanghai Global Ranking 2017 positions Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg in the Academic Subject Energy Science & Engineering on the best rank ever and probably on the highest rank reached by a German university.
Erlangen´s Energy Science & Engineering is a joint effort between Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering & Material Science and is strongly backed up by the external research institutions, the Energy Campus Nürnberg (EnCN), the Helmholtz Institute Erlangen Nürnberg (HI-ErN) and the Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research (ZAE Bayern). Overarching research efforts are the topics renewable energy production and storage of electricity and heat. Intense joint research efforts are in the topics hydrogen & photovoltaics, where researchers in Erlangen come in top positions worldwide.
