Max won the EnCN Energiepreis for his MSc thesis
We are proud to congratulate Max Bibrack on winning the EnCN Energy Prize for his MSc thesis. His innovative work represents a significant step forward in the field of organic photovoltaics. In his thesis, Max successfully printed reflective silver electrodes for organic solar cells using a cutting-edge printing process known as Laser-Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT). This technique uses a nanosecond laser to transfer ink from a donor substrate to a target substrate in a non-contact, high-throughput process capable of handling a wide range of materials and inks. Max demonstrated the use of LIFT-printed silver top electrodes in organic solar cells. Remarkably, these cells achieved efficiencies only slightly below those of reference cells using conventionally deposited silver electrodes. This groundbreaking work demonstrates Max’s exceptional skill, creativity and commitment to advancing sustainable energy technologies. Congratulations, Max, on this well-deserved recognition! We wish you continued success in your future endeavours!
