On the 15th and 16th of April, PhD students and Postodcs from the i-MEET teams attended a workshop on Bayesian Optimization. The workshop, organized by our Postdoc V.M. Le Corre, explored the basics of Bayesian optimization using our in-house package BOAR.

As a practice BOAR in combination with the drift-diffusion simulation package SIMsalabim to perform fits of organic or perovskite current density-voltage (J-V) characteristics.

Over the 2-day workshop, the participants learned how to set up a Bayesian optimization and drift-diffusion simulation and about the pitfalls and best practices of such a workflow.

All participants were able to perform beautiful fits of their own experimental data and learned how to interpret the results.
