Mission

i-MEET Mission

3d-themenkugel_neu1

A stable and sustainable energy supply is the number One concern among our society´s top problems. The next thirty years will show, whether society is able to initiate the urgent transition from a fossil energy supply towards a renewable energy scenario. The challenges for a green, sustainable and renewable energy supply are enormous – an additional production capacity of approx. 10 TW is required within the next 30 years. The progress and success in energy related research will decide whether these 10 TW will come from renewable sources like the sun. Research at i-MEET is concentrated on electronic materials with relevance for energy related devices. Optoelectronic semiconductors for solar cells, lighting applications or high power circuits are in the focus of the currently 4 research groups at i-MEET.
