Christoph has been honored as a “Highly Cited Researcher” by the Web of Science Group, a part of Clarivate Analytics for the eleventh time in a row! Meaning he is in the top 1% of the scientists for over decade now. The Highly Cited Researchers List of 2023 features 7,127 outstanding researchers globally, and Germany ranks fourth with a total of 336 researchers included, 4 out of them from FAU. Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers™ which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year in the Web of Science over the past decade. However, citation activity is not the sole selection indicator. A preliminary list based on citation activity is then refined using qualitative analysis and expert judgement. Publications are classified as “Highly Cited Papers” when they rank among the top one percent in citations for the year of publication. Notably, Prof. Brabec’s influence extends beyond the field of materials science, as he is once again represented in the “cross-field” category.
