“Simple Non-fused Electron Acceptors Leading toOrganic Photovoltaics with High Practical Figure-of-Merits”
In recent years, the module synthesis of acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A)non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs) has largely boosted the power conversionefficiencies (PCEs) of organic photovoltaics (OPVs). However, to constructmulti-ring fused NFAs typically involves multiple-step synthesis andpurification, potentially undermining OPVs from reaching the idealfigure-of-merits (FoMs) among the efficiency-stability-cost correlation. Inthis presentation, I will introduce the development of non-fused ring acceptors(NFRAs) in our group. Such incredibly simple NFRAs are obtained via shortsynthesis from single aromatic units, exhibiting an elongated exciton lifetimeand fast charge transfer rate in bulk heterojunction blends. They allowexhibiting high performance, stability, as well as the practical FoM amonghigh-performance electron acceptors
