Therole of simulation in the modern scientific and technical endeavor cannot beunderestimated and the use of effective modeling and simulation plays acritical role in modern scientific advances. It can providequalitative/quantitative insights into experimental work and guide the choiceof which experimental system to study or enable the design of new systems. Wemainly focus on the design of proficient material for organic solar cells bydoing DFT calculation to foresee its energy levels, absorption, emissionproperties as well as its charge transfer ability and then synthesis ofsuitable molecular / polymer chromophores for maximum sun light absorption andsubsequent efficient conversion into potential output device.
Javed Iqbal has completed his master’s degree from theUniversity of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He did his PhD from JilinUniversity, Changchun, P.R China with a focus on the synthesis and fabricationof Organic Functional Materials under the supervision of Prof. Wang Yue. Aftercompleting PhD, he worked as a Postdoc Fellow at the Department of Chemistry,Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden under the supervision of Prof Bertil Eliasson incollaboration with Prof. Ludvig Edman Department of Physics, Umeå University,Umeå, Sweden. He worked there on a multigroup “Artificial Leaf” project. Hiscontribution was designing and synthesis of suitable molecular / polymerchromophores for maximum sun light absorption and subsequent efficientconversion into an output electrochemical potential device appropriate forwater splitting. His current research interests are:
Ø Design and synthesis of proficient materials for Photovoltaic(PV) and non-linear optics applications.
Ø Graphene and g-Carbon Nitride based photocatalystsfor water splitting, water purification, and biofuel production.
